With the grand opening up of a new broad gauge line between Nidamangalam and Mannargudi, a daily passenger train service (Mannai Express) between Chennai Egmore and Mannargudi will be introduced from 28-09-2011.

The ‘Mannai Express’ will leave Chennai Egmore at 10 PM and arrive at Mannargudi (Thiruvarur District) at 6.25 AM the next day. In the return journey, it will leave Mannargudi at 9.15 PM and arrive Chennai at 5.50 AM the following day, a Southern Railway press release said here.
